There are four main areas of the editor that you will be using frequently when creating a video.

  • Start screen: You can import files, create a backup of an existing file or configure the settings of the editor. You can also easily access your photos by clicking photos Tab.

  • Project Library: Any media files you want to create for the video will be added here. You can add pictures or videos from your laptop or the web.

  • Storyboard: The videos and photos you want to edit will be added to the storyboard at the bottom of the video editor.

  • Preview area. You can preview the video by clicking game Button.

There are two ways to create a video. You can select the photos and videos and the video editor will re-mix them to create a video for you. Alternatively, you can start from a blank canvas, select your media files, apply various effects, and add text to the video.

If you want to give Windows control of your video, you can have a video created for you.

  1. On the home screen, click the ellipse next to the New video project and choose Do a video for me.

  2. Select at least two media files, name your video, and click Create.

  3. Enter a meaningful name for the video and click OK.

  4. You can select the Remix option to automatically apply a theme, music, and effects to the video.

  5. If you don't want to make any further changes, click End video.

  6. Select the video quality from the drop-down list and click export.

  7. Save the video.

Alternatively, if you want control over the video creation process, you can start over

  1. On the home screen, click the New video project Opportunity.

  2. Enter a meaningful name for the video and click OK.

  4. Highlight the images you want to work with and click Place in the storyboard.

Add background music to the video

You can add standard Windows-provided music or a custom track to your video. Currently, you can only apply one track to the entire video. So if you insert a video with dialogue, it will not be audible.

Follow these steps to add a soundtrack:

  1. Select at the top right of the home screen Background music.

  2. Press the play Button to listen to the music. You can sync the video with the music.

  3. To add a music file from your laptop, click Custom audio and Add audio file.

  4. click complete.

When you're happy with the changes, click End video at the top right and select export. The video will be saved on your laptop. If you're signed in to OneDrive, the video is automatically backed up online.
