Enable WhatsApp desktop notifications
In order to receive WhatsApp notifications, these notifications must be activated in WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop App on your Windows PC.
The steps to enable notifications in WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop App are the same. To enable your notifications, do the following:
Open WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp app on your PC.
In the top left corner of WhatsApp, tap the menu with the three dots.
Choose the settings from the menu.
Click on the following screen Notifications to view notification settings for WhatsApp.
Make sure, that Turn off all desktop notifications Option is not activated. Disable it if it is enabled.
Select the check boxes for the notifications you want.
You can now close the WhatsApp settings menu.
Allow WhatsApp notifications in your web browser
If you're using WhatsApp Web, your web browser is likely blocking WhatsApp notifications. In this case, you can unblock these notifications in the settings of your browser. This should fix your problem.
This does not apply to the WhatsApp desktop app.
Enable WhatsApp notifications in Google Chrome
With Google Chrome, users can block and unblock notifications per site. To enable notifications for WhatsApp website in Chrome:
Open Chrome, click the Chrome menu (three dots) in the top right corner and select the settings.
click Privacy and security in the left sidebar and select Page settings On the right side.
Scroll down in the right pane and click Notifications.
On the Notifications screen at the top, click the search box and start typing web.whatsapp.com.
When this entry appears in the list, right-click the menu with the three dots next to it and select enable.
Enable WhatsApp notifications in Mozilla Firefox
Firefox takes a Chrome-like approach to handling notifications. You can whitelist the WhatsApp website. This should fix the WhatsApp notifications issue on your Windows 10 PC.
This is how it works:
Start Firefox, click the Firefox menu (three horizontal lines) in the upper right corner and select Settings.
In the Settings screen, click Privacy & security in the left sidebar.
Scroll down the right pane until you see this Permissions Section.
In this section, click the settings next to where is it written Notifications.
Enter the following on the following screen web.whatsapp.com in the search box above.
Click the drop-down menu next to this entry and select enable.
Enable Windows 10 notifications
Windows 10 offers the ability to universally block or unblock notifications. You need to make sure that notifications are allowed in this option. Otherwise, you will not receive any notifications for your WhatsApp message.
To access this option in Windows 10:
Open the Settings app by pressing Windows Key + I..
Choose system on the settings screen.
In System Preferences, click Notifications and promotions on the left sidebar.
In the right area under the Notifications Activate the section Receive notifications from apps and other senders Switch.
Enable the option to show notifications on your lock screen Show notifications on the lock screen Possibility.
Use an alternate way to access WhatsApp
If you still can't get WhatsApp to show notifications on your Windows 10 PC, it might be a good idea to switch to a different way of accessing WhatsApp.
For example, if you're currently using WhatsApp Web, switch to the WhatsApp desktop app and see if you get any notifications.
If you're currently using the WhatsApp app, go to WhatsApp Web and see if your problem is resolved.
Switching between these alternatives is easy as all you have to do is scan WhatsApp's QR code and you're done.
