The fall sales season begins with Labor Day in September and ends on Black Friday in November. This year, however, buyers get a special treat with Prime Day deals in October. This means an additional chance to save big bucks on expensive items like home appliances and laptops. If you're looking for perhaps the best Windows ultrabook out there, we expect at least a few Prime Day Dell XPS deals. Here is everything you need to know about getting those bargains, as well as some of the early Dell XPS deals currently available.

The best Dell XPS deals for today's Prime Day

Amazon hasn't released any official data yet, but we expect the curtain to be pulled back on Prime Day 2020 sometime in October (the latest information suggests it will be the first week of the month). That means we'll have to wait a little longer to see the official Prime Day Dell XPS deals. However, if you can't wait, here are a handful of discounted Dell XPS 13 ultrabooks and 2-in-1s to buy today.

  • Dell XPS 13 (4 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD) – – $ 750was $ 850
  • Dell XPS Desktop (32 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD + 2 TB hard drive) – – $ 1400was $ 1700
  • Dell XPS 15 (16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD) – – $ 1500was $ 1800
  • Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 (32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) – $ 1825was $ 2250
  • Dell XPS 17 (16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD) – $ 1990was $ 2400

When are the best Prime Day Dell XPS deals?

Amazon usually conducts its exclusive Prime member sales in the summer, but Prime Day has been postponed this year due to the public health crisis. That might have been bad news for summer bargain hunters, but it's lucky for those who like to shop in the fall as it means we'll get another big blowout less than two months before Black Friday.

As with other sales, most of the best Prime Day Dell XPS deals will go online during the event itself (we're assuming they will last for at least 48 hours, although rumors have been rumored that Amazon may extend them one more time). In the week before Prime Day, however, there are always some early Lightning Deals that are offered as a “little glimpse” into the range of sales.

If you see one you like, don't miss out on those early Dell XPS deals on Prime Day, as there's no guarantee you'll see it again on Prime Day (let alone at a cheaper price). Even if you do, you can still buy the cheaper one and return what you bought. Likewise, we do not recommend waiting for Black Friday, assuming the same model will be discounted again. Prime Day could be your last chance to get a bargain on an XPS laptop before 2021.

What Prime Day Dell XPS Expects

From what we've seen in previous sales, we expect at least the Dell XPS 13 and Dell XPS 15 to go up for sale on Prime Day. Dell has year-round deals on these ultrabooks. Some of the best discounts this year were on the XPS 13 touchscreen laptops and the XPS 13 2-in-1, both of which have dropped well below the $ 1,000 mark recently (even just $ 700 – $ 800 for the standard configurations). These are also two of our all-time favorites. So keep an eye on them.

If you prefer something larger, the XPS 15 is also hugely popular and will likely be discounted among Dell's XPS Prime Day deals this year, but the fantastic new XPS 17 (which was recently added to the stable by Dell) wasn't yet in operation selling so much. Prime Day could be your best chance before 2021 to see big savings on these larger laptops. Do not forget to use slightly older models, as these last generation devices often achieve the largest price reductions in percentage terms.
