The Finest GeForce RTX 2060 Graphics Playing cards

Catrachadas's Best Of features are designed to simplify your purchasing process by summarizing all of the information we collect from reviews and tests into digestible purchasing guides that are broken down by price range or use. But even if we help you choose the best GPU for you, you still need to choose a specific graphics card brand and model. And sometimes you can find dozens of different models based on the same GPU.

From recent releases, which included Nvidia's RTX mid-range and high-end GPUs and AMD's Radeon VII, the GeForce RTX 2060 was the best of them all. It is also the cheapest, and this is no accident.

The RTX 2060 offers the best value within this group and is ready to replace the GTX 1070 as a middle ground for great performance at a price that remains accessible to most enthusiasts.

In the past few weeks, requests for the best GTX 1070 to buy have been replaced by the best RTX 2060 card. While some readers want to know which model is the best, others are more interested in the best value or which options are suitable for mini-ITX builds. Here are the four best RTX 2060 cards currently on the market …

Best price RTX 2060

There aren't many models currently sold for $ 350. As I compose this video, there are only two gigabyte models, the RTX 2060 OC and the RTX 2060 Mini-ITX OC. A few days earlier there was also the Zotac Gaming RTX 2060 Twin Fan that we recommended, but now the price has gone up a bit.

The Gigabyte RTX 2060 Gaming OC has a triple fan cooler and delivers where it matters. We have been looking at this model for some time and the prices are constant. It was launched as one of the cheapest models at $ 370 and has been available at all major online retailers for $ 350 for a month. If you can buy the Zotac Twin Fan model for $ 350, it's also a worthwhile option.

The Gigabyte is a base model with some decent features like alternative spinning fans, copper heat pipes with direct contact and a full length backplate. It is by no means the coolest or quietest RTX 2060 on the market. If you are willing to spend $ 20 to $ 30 more, you will get a better product in that regard.

Best Premium RTX 2060

If you don't exceed the budget for an RTX 2060 and want to spend a little more money, we recommend the Asus ROG Strix RTX 2060 OC Gaming. At $ 400, it's $ 50 more expensive than the few base models you can find at the MSRP, but you get a lot more graphics cards for the money.

Admittedly, it is not much faster, but it is much cooler and quieter. After unpacking, it runs at just 62 degrees, which is an improvement of 11 degrees over the similarly expensive MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z. The VRM and GDDR6's storage temperatures were also very low compared to other high-end 2060 models, and our card was overclocked like a champ with ease keeping an operating frequency of 2055 MHz.

However, keep in mind that this thing is the size of a high-end graphics card, 300mm long, 132mm high and a whopping 50mm wide. There are three 85mm fans, a full size back panel and enough customizable RGB lighting to shame your Christmas tree. However, if you prefer a stealth look, you can turn off the lights at the push of a button. Overall, the Asus ROG Strix RTX 2060 OC Gaming will not disappoint those after a premium RTX 2060 experience.

Best Mini-ITX RTX 2060

There are two main options here: MSI RTX 2060 Aero ITX OC and Gigabyte RTX 2060 Mini ITX OC. We chose the Gigabyte model for several reasons. MSI has announced the RTX 2060 Aero ITX OC, but good luck finding it, it doesn't seem to be on sale yet.

We would probably recommend the gigabyte anyway, as it is a bit shorter. The 126 mm height of the MSI model makes compatibility with some mini-ITX cases such as the Geeek A30 difficult. The 121 mm high design of the Gigabyte version is more suitable for these smaller cases.

The Gigabyte model also has a fan mode with zero rpm and is relatively quiet under load for a 2060 with a fan. Perhaps the best thing is that it is available from the MSRP, so you can buy one today for just $ 350.

Best blower style RTX 2060

We don't like fan-style graphics cards, but they can make sense in some scenarios. However, your options here are extremely limited, and the only widespread version comes from Asus with the Turbo RTX 2060.

The more expensive models are available for $ 390, and although we usually recommend avoiding this, this is the best choice if you need a fan-style card.

The Turbo RTX 2060 has an 80 mm IP5X double ball bearing fan, subtle lighting, a length of 268 mm and is of course a card with two slots.

Close thoughts

Choosing the right RTX 2060 is a little difficult and largely revolves around the price. There are very few $ 350 options to choose from, and once you've exceeded the MSRP, they all seem to jump pretty close to $ 400.

For example, if you spend $ 380, you could just as well fill up the pig at this point and buy the hideous Asus ROG Strix RTX 2060 OC Gaming for $ 400. It's still at least $ 100 cheaper than a base model RTX 2070, and for the most part offers similar performance.

The cheapest Vega graphics cards still cost a little over $ 400, and you'll struggle to get one that matches the quality of the ROG Strix RTX 2060 OC Gaming.
