The 7 Finest Home windows Tablets of 2020

If you're looking for a lightweight and portable way to stay productive on the go, tablets can be an important tool in your tech collection.

While Apple and Android gadgets have traditionally dominated the tablet space, Windows tablets shouldn't be ruled out. Some can run the full Windows 10 operating system and thus give access to the apps you use every day.

If you want to learn more, read on. We are going to round up the best Windows tablets for 2020.

The Microsoft Surface Book 3, which was released in May 2020, is Microsoft's attempt to offer a true 2-in-1 offering. While the other Surface models like the Surface Go 2 and Surface Pro 7 are both considered to be laptops, they remain the focus of the tablet.

Conversely, the Surface Book 3 is a laptop at heart, but has a detachable screen so it can be used efficiently as a tablet when needed. This added versatility comes at a cost, of course.

The full-featured version of the Surface Book 3 can cost several thousand dollars, making the other Surface devices look cheap in comparison. However, if you have the budget and the need, you will struggle to find a better Windows device with tablet capabilities.

Lenovo's 2-in-1 yoga line of products has been a popular choice with users in recent years. The latest model, the C940, is no different.
Of course, the device is not a tablet in the strict sense; There is no way to see the keyboard from the screen.

However, thanks to its 360-degree folding design, you can use it like a touchscreen tablet when you're on the go. The computer can detect when the keyboard is folded back and the operating system overwrites accidental keystrokes.

When you choose the model, you get a 4K display and 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7 mobile processor, which gives you a lot more power than a typical tablet would afford.

This is not the device to buy if you want to use it in tablet mode all the time. If so, buy a regular tablet instead of a foldable 2-in-1 model instead.

The Dell Latitude 7220 Rugged Extreme is the successor to the hugely popular Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme. Given the specs, this updated Windows tablet should be just as popular.

Although the specs are impressive (the top model has 2TB of internal storage and an Intel i7-8665U processor), the rugged design is what sets the device apart. An IP65 rating means that it can withstand water sprays and extreme levels of dust and sand, and withstand temperatures from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to +145 degrees Fahrenheit.

The bumpers around the bezels also mean it can withstand a four foot drop when turned off and a three foot drop when turned on. If you work in an environment where your equipment is likely to be hammering, e.g. B. on a construction site, this is the Windows tablet for you.

The Microsoft Surface Pro X differs significantly from all other Surface products. It is the first tablet to be shipped with Microsoft's own ARM processor SQ1 (2019 models) or SQ2 (2020 models).

Developed in collaboration with Qualcomm, it is a customized version of the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 and exclusive to the Surface Pro X model. According to Microsoft, the new processor makes the tablet more energy efficient (and therefore does not require a fan), improves battery life and offers an integrated 4G LTE modem.

The big disadvantage of an ARM processor is app support. The software must be compiled differently than for x86 computers. That means no Adobe and no support for 64-bit Windows apps. Microsoft claims its new App Assure program will fix the problem, but it's still a work in progress.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 offers laptop-class specifications in tablet form, making it an excellent option for anyone who needs a lot of computing power on the go.

In contrast to Microsoft's other premium tablet – the Surface Pro X – the Surface Pro 7 has an Intel processor. That means the device doesn't suffer from the same app compatibility issues that plague its cousin. You can install any 64-bit Windows software.

There are three different versions of the Surface Pro 7 available. The entry-level model uses a 10th generation Intel i3-1005G1 processor with two cores, while the premium model comes with a 10th generation Intel i7-1065G7 processor with four cores. All versions are only available in black.

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 is the newest product in the Go range. It's cheaper than the Microsoft Surface Pro models, but also less powerful.

If you get the lowest spec model, you only get 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. In our opinion, this means that the device is considerably under-challenged. Instead, try expanding to the mid or premium model.

You get up to 256 GB of storage space and 8 GB of RAM as well as an Intel Core m3-8100Y processor instead of the Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y.

Nevertheless, even the base model offers a remarkable increase in performance compared to the old Surface 1. If you have the older model, the upgrade is worthwhile.

The Fusion5 FWIN232 + is not designed for high productivity tasks. Instead, think of it as an entertainment device. For example, if you're looking for a Windows-based alternative to the Kindle Fire 8 tablets, this should be at the top of your list.

However, this does not mean that you cannot do any productivity tasks at all. The 4 GB RAM is insufficient for Photoshop and other similar apps. However, it can still open multiple windows at once and has no problem running important productivity apps like Word and Excel.

We also think the Fusion5 FWIN232 + is an excellent device for kids. For example, suppose you need something they can use while driving or are just looking for an entry-level device so they can get used to the Windows operating system. In that case, this tablet is a great option.

FAQ

Q: Why should you buy a Windows tablet?

When purchasing a tablet, you have four operating system options: Windows, iOS, Android, and Fire OS.

Windows-based tablets run the full version of Windows, while iPads don't run macOS. So if you need a device for productivity, Windows tablets are the way to go.

Q: How much RAM is required?

In our list, you'll see RAM between 4GB and 32GB. That's a massive difference in performance.

If you plan to use apps like Adobe Photoshop, make sure you have at least 12 GB, and ideally 16 GB. If you just want to surf the web and watch Netflix, 4GB is enough.

Ultimately, it boils down to how you use your tablet.

Q: Why are the best Windows tablets so expensive?

It's not uncommon to pay more than $ 2,000 for a full-featured, top-of-the-line Windows tablet. The cost is due to the specifications.

The best Windows tablets are comparable to laptops under the hood, but the manufacturer has to use this hardware in a much smaller space, which increases the cost.
