Following the announcement of its new Ryzen 3000XT desktop processors, AMD has made some ambitious claims regarding its chips. In particular, the company has shown how the 3000XT outperforms competing Intel processors, including the top-of-the-range Core i9-9900K.
Based on AMD's optimized 7nm node and using the Zen 2 processor architecture, the new Ryzen 3000XT series starts with the Ryzen 5 3600XT at only $ 249. The family includes updated configurations such as the Ryzen 7 3800XT for $ 399 and the Ryzen 9 3900XT for $ 499. In contrast to the standard processors without XT Ryzen 3000, thanks to the improvements of the 7 nm node, the XT chips achieve an increase in the clock rates of up to 200 MHz in order to achieve more performance, according to AMD.
How can these improvements be translated into actual performance? Compared to the popular Intel Gaming Core i9-9900K desktop processor, AMD states that the Ryzen 9 3900XT is equipped with 50% more cores. While the Ryzen 9 3900X and the Ryzen 9 3900XT performed similarly in the POV-Ray 3.7, Adobe Photoshop CC 2020 and Cinebench R20 tests, the XT achieved an additional margin of 5 to 12% compared to the X series for the Adobe Premiere CC blender. achieve 2020 and DaVinci Resolve 16.2 tests.
While the new XT series excels at competing against its rivals, gaming performance has been more consistent between the three competing processors. The Ryzen 5 3600XT and Ryzen 5 3600X also developed similarly, and AMD's silicon led to benchmarks in content creation tasks versus the Intel Core i5-9600K.

AMD will also bundle a free version of Assassins Creed Valhalla if you buy a suitable desktop processor between July 7th and October 3rd. AMD also announced an update to its StoreMI software to accelerate your storage drives while improving data integrity. The new version 2.0 of StoreMI offers support for any combination of hard drive and SSD and prioritizes data that is accessed frequently on the SSD so that apps and games can be loaded faster. AMD claims that StoreMI can help load the combo drive up to 1.13 times faster than a single-disk system.
