Microsoft Releases KB5000842 as an Elective Home windows Replace

The update brings some useful fixes and optimizations for Windows 10.

Windows Update has a nasty habit of updating your PC during the worst of times. However, sometimes Microsoft releases optional updates that you can download when it's best for you. Microsoft just released one of those optional updates called KB5000842 that contains many useful fixes for Windows 10.

What's in the Windows 10 KB5000842 update?

As you'd expect from an optional update, there is nothing big or important in the patch notes. However, some nice additions make it a worthwhile update if you can save time.

For example, if you're using HDR and you find things are a little darker than they should be, the update will fix that awkward purchase and bring your colors back to normal.

If you've played videos on multiple monitors in Duplicate display mode, you have probably noticed that they are out of sync. Update KB5000842 is intended to address this problem. Download it when you match the bill.

With this update there are many small improvements and corrections. If you're interested, visit the Microsoft support website and see the details for yourself.

A useful update for Windows 10 users

While the new optional update doesn't include any major features, it does fix some annoying issues that users have with Windows 10. So download it if you feel sorry for something.

If you're not a fan of the forced, mandatory nature of Windows updates, there are ways you can keep them from downloading themselves during an important time.
