HP is following the enterprise market with its latest Chromebook, the HP Pro c640 G2 Chromebook Enterprise. The second generation Pro c640 Enterprise receives a powerful upgrade to the latest 11th generation Intel processor from the previous generation's 10th generation CPU.

The HP c640 G2 Chromebook Enterprise is designed for all-day productivity with a stated battery life of 12.5 hours, a 14-inch display and a slim aluminum unibody design that is just under 16.5 mm thick. According to the company, this makes it the thinnest 14-inch Chromebook in the world. And for those who need to extend their working day, the fast charging technology brings a 90% charge in just 90 minutes.

Compared to Chromebooks and consumer laptops, the HP Pro c640 G2 Chromebook Enterprise is characterized by its leak-proof construction. “The device is designed for a long service life and can withstand a large number of harsh environmental conditions. It can be cleaned with conventional household cleaning cloths. The keyboard is splash-proof up to 11.8 ounces, ”explains HP. For security and privacy conscious users, HP has also integrated the data protection camera. A fingerprint sensor is available as an option. The device comes with an HD display. An FHD panel is also available as an optional upgrade for a surcharge.

Under the hood, in addition to Intel Iris Xe graphics, you get the performance of the 11th generation Intel Core processors. The Intel processors make the Chromebook compatible with Parallels Desktop. This means that you can run Windows 10 apps from a virtual machine on Chrome OS. The HP Pro c640 G2 Chromebook Enterprise can run Win32 apps, making it ideal for corporate customers with workflows based on Windows 10. Parallels Desktop for Chrome Enterprise is also compatible with AMD's Ryzen processors on Chromebooks.

Other premium features include a glass touchpad for smooth navigation, a keyboard that has been redesigned for better readability, optional backlighting for input in low-light environments, and up to 16 GB of storage and 256 GB of storage. Wi-Fi 6 is also supported on this Chrome OS based laptop.

HP said it developed its latest Chromebook to help people stay connected, engage, and be productive in the face of changing workforce dynamics. The company cited research that 32% of employees are expected to be working from home anytime soon, while 26% plan to split the time between working from home and commuting to the office. The HP Pro c640 Chromebook Enterprise G2 features provide these users with long battery life, a slim and compact design, and technology features that encourage collaboration.

The Enterprise Edition of the HP c640 G2 Chromebook is available now for $ 569, while the non-Enterprise version starts at $ 419. The Enterprise version includes the Chrome Enterprise upgrade and additional IT tools. Both models are available in the HP webshop.
