The in-depth Windows 10 makeover is much more noticeable now.
If you're a little tired of the animations used by Windows 10, you can prepare for a makeover soon. A new set of animations has hit the Windows 10 preview builds, and it's only a matter of time before they hit your PC, too.
Microsoft's new animations for Windows 10
Windows Latest discovered the new animations in the Windows 10 21H2 Preview Build. This build introduces a brand new "zoom" animation into the operating system.
Windows 10 currently has a zoom animation. Every time you open a new window, it doesn't just show it. There is a slight zoom animation that makes the window easier to see. It's very subtle and easy to miss if you've been using Windows 10 for a long time, but it's there.
Microsoft is apparently making this effect much more dramatic. Instead of being a gentle fade-in, the window appears very clear.
Additionally, Microsoft has confirmed on the Feedback Hub that this is just the beginning. The Redmond tech giant is promising even more animation improvements in the future and is asking the feedback hub staff to share any comments with it.
A sun over the horizon
If you've been keeping an eye on your Windows 10 messages, you've likely seen many parts describing certain areas of the operating system that are undergoing a major overhaul. All of these updates are grouped under one umbrella called "Sun Valley".
Sure enough, these animations are part of the same update. This means they'll be joining the UI makeover, new rounded window style, and a brand new energy option as part of the big makeover.
If you're not part of the Insider build, you're seeing these new animations as part of a larger bundle of improvements and tweaks to Windows 10. We'll have to wait and see when Sun Valley will release date to the general public.
Windows 10 is getting more and more animated
Windows 10's animations are a bit lengthy, and Microsoft is giving them a coat of paint for the big Sun Valley update. It is unclear which other animations Microsoft will optimize.
That being said, we don't know much about Sun Valley as it is. All we've seen so far is a few pictures and a few assertions here and there, but nothing solid has emerged yet.

Images of the new Windows 10 makeover appear online
The pictures don't show anything drastic, but it's an interesting glimpse of what Microsoft is expecting from the makeover.
