We're finally here folks. It's time for the sixth Wolverine challenge in Fortnite, which will reward you with its classic outfits upon completion. For the final challenge of Season 4, Week 6, you'll have to defeat Wolverine on your own, a task much easier said than done. Not only is Wolverine a difficult enemy to defeat, it's just as difficult to find, especially since a large proportion of your enemies want to do the same. Fortunately, we have everything you need to know to find and get him done.
In this guide, we're going to walk you through the preparations required to defeat Wolverine, show you where he is, and give you tips and strategies to take him out as easily as possible. Here's how to beat Wolverine in Fortnite.
How to unlock Wolverine's Challenges
Before you get to that point, you will need to unlock Wolverine's Challenges. You do this by purchasing this season's Battle Pass. Unfortunately, there is no other way to gain access to Wolverine's Challenges without purchasing the Battle Pass. You can get your hands on it for 950 V-Bucks (which is roughly $ 8). Unless you have any V-Bucks left over from a previous season, you'll have to pay real money to earn his costumes.
Once you've purchased it, you can head over to the Battle Pass submenu to see all of Wolverine's challenges. There are currently six main challenges available for this sixth week that you must complete in order to obtain the Wolverine skin. Remember, you can do them in any order so that you can be flexible about it.
How do I find Wolverine?
When you're ready to hunt Wolverine, there is one more step you need to take. Go to Settings in the main menu. Go to the audio section and then enable Visualize Sound Effects. This shows you various audio cues in a visual format. For example, chests will appear on the screen when you are nearby, and most importantly, will show enemy footsteps. How to find Wolverine in the woods.
Once everything is done, you can jump into a game. The first thing you should do is stock up on equipment to get you through the fight. You'll also want to get on a helicopter to find Wolverine. So we recommend landing at Misty Meadows to collect your gear. When you're ready, head north to the island where the helicopter is located. When collecting equipment, make sure you pick up some type of long range weapon. If you can't find one, you will find it hard to take out Wolverine as he does massive damage up close. Try to get your hands on the burst rifle or regular assault rifle, preferably of rare quality or better. Misty Meadows – make as many chests as possible so that you are well equipped for the battle ahead. Shields and health are also a good idea to stock up on.
When you're done, head to the helicopter north of Misty Meadows and head to Wolverine's location – which is somewhere between Slurpy Swamp and Weeping Woods. That's the biggest problem with this challenge: Wolverine is often hard to find, and if other players get to him before you, you probably won't be able to take him out. As you fly around in the helicopter, pay attention to the visual cues that represent steps as they will point you in the direction of a player or Wolverine nearby.
If you're seeing a lot of excitement below, it likely means Wolverine is there – along with a handful of other players. Try not to land right in the middle of the firefight as the enemy players will likely take you out with ease. Instead, land right outside of the fight and do your best to fire a few shots at Wolverine, hoping he's weak enough for you to credit yourself with the kill.
If you are really lucky you are the only one there. If so, land well away from Wolverine so you can unload him as he walks towards you. If you're within close range of him, you're as good as dead. So don't make the same mistake we've made with countless others.
In the video above, you can see how to track down Wolverine using the helicopter method. In our run, our team found Wolverine before we got there and managed to take him out without us. This will almost never happen. So don't rely on your team to find him before you do. Our teammates managed to prepare for a Quinjet patrol that happened to appear right next to Wolverine. With all three firing at Wolverine along with hacked Stark robots, it was much easier to knock him down. Although we couldn't help, you can clearly see how to find Wolverine by helicopter. If our team hadn't got there first, the helicopter method would still have worked to track down Wolverine.
You don't have to use the method we described to find Wolverine. You can try landing in Weeping Woods so that you can be closer to him. The problem, however, is that so many players are doing the same thing, which makes it difficult to even get a hold of him before someone else takes them off. You can try your luck and see what happens, but we got the best results by collecting gear elsewhere and flying around in a helicopter instead of landing right in the center of the action.
How to Beat Wolverine
Once you track him down, there is more you need to do. Wolverine packs a streak and will likely get you out in just a few hits. The solution is to stand back and attack him with long range weapons. It is really only fatal up close. As long as you are far enough away, it won't pose much of a threat. In the video above, you can see Wolverine targeting a teammate, freeing him up for the rest of the team to attack. The entire team was able to unload Wolverine before he could even perform fatal attacks, which is the target.
In this particular clip the stars are perfectly aligned, but if you try it probably won't go as smoothly, mainly because there will be so many players against you – and against Wolverine. This is why it is highly recommended that you coordinate with your team to make sure that you are all on the same page. Once you spot Wolverine, you and your team should walk right up to him to fire anything you put inside him. If you are alone you must be lucky as it is more difficult than you might think. You may be able to take down Wolverine after other players damage him, but again, you can't count on it.
Lastly, remember to completely eliminate Wolverine once he's down. Other players can actually credit the kill for taking it off while it's down. So don't stop shooting until you get the notification that you have completed the challenge. Once you've done this, you'll be rewarded with Wolverine's blue and yellow outfit and the brown and yellow variant (assuming you've also completed the other Wolverine challenges). So wear it with pride as unlocking it is not an easy task. Loosen the main menu to select your new outfit and make sure you hit Edit Style to toggle between the two.
