Don’t Count on A lot at Apple’s Spring Present, Says Analyst

Apple's Spring Loaded event, scheduled for April 20th, will not contain anything “particularly innovative” or “out of the ordinary”. This is one of the most trusted Apple analysts in the business, according to Mark Gurman.

Gurman was talking about Bloomberg Technology when he made the comments. When asked what the event means for Apple, Gurman replied, "Nothing you will see next week is particularly innovative. There is nothing extraordinary that we have never seen from Apple or anyone else." These are more iterative updates. "

That doesn't mean there isn't anything to look forward to next Tuesday. Gurman stated that the main thing to look out for is an updated iPad Pro with a new processor "on par with" the M1 in the latest line of MacBooks as well as the Mac Mini.

According to Gurman, the biggest improvement to the iPad Pro will be seen on the display. The larger of the two iPad Pro models (the 12.9-inch version) is equipped with a mini LED screen that noticeably increases the brightness and contrast ratio in order to achieve a “better user experience”.

Gurman also said the iPad Pro would come with an "updated port that syncs faster with more accessories". This is presumably related to Apple's rumors of replacing the USB-C port with a Thunderbolt 3 slot, which offers much higher bandwidth and still has the same port design so you don't have to buy new dongles or accessory cables.

There is a possible product that could boost the innovation factor. Gurman said he should look for a major overhaul of the iMac. We know Apple's all-in-one is slated for the most significant redesign in a decade this year, and that would definitely qualify as "extraordinary" in our eyes. Gurman said it was possible that it will occur at the Spring Loaded event. If so, it would undoubtedly steal the limelight from everything else.

The last thing we can expect at the show is the AirTags unveiling. These are tile-like tracking devices that you can attach to your valuable items so you can track them in the Find My app and find them in case you ever lose them.

We'll have all the news from the show as soon as it gets out. So keep checking back. Wondering what could be announced? We have the latest rumors to keep you updated.
