Asus Launches New VivoBook Flip 14 with Ryzen 5000 CPU


Asus updates one of its most popular Windows 10 convertibles with great performance under the hood. The latest VivoBook Flip 14 models start at $ 600 and offer options for AMD's Ryzen 5000 processors. They offer a lot of performance for work and leisure. That makes it an easy competitor for the best budget laptops.

With configurations like the Ryzen 5 5500U and Ryzen 7 5700U, Asus believes that these new models have what it takes to be "perfect for multitasking and high-definition entertainment." This is also supported by up to 16 GB of RAM as well as 1 TB of PCIe solid state drive storage in top-end configurations.

We've already seen that laptops like the Lenovo Flex 5 come with this new AMD CPU. Asus is now the newest company to update its range of products to keep it in sync with the latest AMD offerings. As a convertible, the VivoBook Flip 14 has an all-metal housing and diamond-cut edges. There's also a new color-blocked enter button with light yellow borders and a diamond-cut lip for opening the lid. You'll also find touchscreen support and the optional ASUS Active Pen Pen that lets you create ink and characters on the screen. Asus promises that the precision-engineered metal hinge on the VivoBook Flip 14 has been tested to pass an opening and closing test of 20,000 cycles.

Other notable features of the new VivoBook Flip 14 are the 14-inch NanoEdge touchscreen that fits into a 13-inch case. It has a slim bezel, a viewing angle of 178 degrees and 100% sRGB color rendering for impressive visual effects.

Of course, selected models have the Asus NumberPad 2.0 signature, which you can use to turn the trackpad into a number pad. All models have larger keycaps than previous generations to make typing easier. Asus even includes the so-called "MyAsus" software, with the help of which the VivoBook Flip 14 can be seamlessly integrated into mobile devices. The software enables wireless file and URL transfers, remote file access, and multitasking via connected mobile devices.
