The new MacBook Pro features Apple's flagship M1 chip and an impressively compact design.
At Apple's "One More Thing" event, the tech giant unveiled a remarkable addition to the MacBook family: a 13-inch Macbook Pro with Apple's brand new M1 chip. This compact, yet powerful device offers superior performance in a small package.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is rising
The new MacBook Pro has an impressive 13-inch display and weighs just three pounds.
Despite its small size, the new MacBook Pro doesn't lack power. It comes with Apple's flagship M1 chip, which has 16 billion transistors and a unified architecture for better efficiency and performance.

Thanks to the M1 chip, the overall performance of the 13-inch MacBook Pro is lightning fast compared to older Pro devices. It has 2.8 times better processing power and an 8-core GPU that is five times faster than the previous generation. Apple even boasted that the device is three times faster than the best-selling Windows laptops.
With all the speed and processing power that goes into such a small device, you might think that the battery life is below average. Surprisingly, the 13-inch MacBook Pro has 17 hours of battery life for wireless web browsing and 20 hours of battery life for video playback, the longest of any Mac.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is also equipped with a superior built-in camera and microphone. The M1 processor lets you take full advantage of the crisp picture quality of the MacBook Pro, as well as a studio-quality microphone that allows you to be heard.
Better still, the M1 chip is designed to take macOS Big Sur to the next level. You can expect the 13-inch MacBook Pro to wake up from sleep mode instantly and get to work faster than ever.
In terms of storage, you can expect up to 2TB of SSD storage and up to 16GB of storage. The 13-inch Pro also supports USB 4 and has up to four Thunderbolt ports.
Like the previous generation of Pro models, the 13-inch MacBook Pro also has a Magic Keyword, a Touch ID function and an elegant touch bar.
The best MacBook Pro yet
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is the most advanced MacBook Pro yet. Its small size and breakthrough performance make it a must-have for any Apple fan.
The entry-level 13-inch Pro starts at $ 1,299 for 256 GB of SSD storage and 8 GB of storage. Meanwhile, the top tier model costs $ 1,999. It's now available on the Apple website, but it won't ship until November 17, 2020.
Apple also introduced an M1-powered MacBook Air, which may be more interesting if you're on a tight budget.
