While responsive, curved monitors are often seen as expensive tools in an enthusiastic gamer's war chest, Acer's new line of affordable curved Nitro XZ2 gaming monitors defies the convention. With the 23.6, 27 and 31.5-inch models, the latest monitors from Acer offer numerous functions that gamers desire – such as fast response times, HDR support and an impressive FHD display – at an affordable starting price of 199 U.S. dollar.
"Our latest Nitro series monitors combine speed, FreeSync and curved panels to provide fun and exciting gaming at a great price," said Ronald Lau, director of stationary computing at Acer America. "The fast performance and affordable prices make the Nitro series ideal for a wide range of players, especially first-person shooters and racing games where smooth graphics are key."
If you're a player on Acer's nitro laptops or desktops, the design of these panels will definitely complement your setup. All three monitors are framed with minimal bezels and clad in black. They have a red stand and red accents on the back. The built-in stand offers rotary, tilt and height settings for improved ergonomics. You can also use the panel on your own VESA compatible wall mount to free up space on your desk.
All three panels support VESA Certified DisplayHDR 400 and up to 400 nits of brightness for deeper saturation and for drawing details in the shadows and lights in complex game scenes. The 1500R curved radius makes gaming even more intense, while AMD FreeSync support helps minimize stutters, cracks and ghosting. With Visual Response Boost technology, Acer claims that these displays can deliver a response time of up to 1 ms from gray to gray to reduce blurring. In addition, the larger panels achieve a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz, while the 23.6-inch version has a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz. With FHD, the resolution is exceeded on all three panels.
All three displays are built on vertically aligned LCD panels, which are equipped with an anti-glare coating that offers a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Like most other monitors on the market, Acer also adds its own custom tuning, such as: B. a blue light filter and flicker-free technologies to reduce eye fatigue during long gaming sessions. There are also eight pre-defined game mode settings to optimize the panels for displaying action, racing, sports, movies and more.
All panels are equipped with integrated 3 W speakers. However, serious gamers should bring their own sound system or gaming headphones to get an even more immersive audio experience. The monitors are available now. Prices start at $ 199 for the 23.6-inch XZ242Q, $ 259 for the 27-inch XZ272, and $ 449 for the 31.5-inch XZ322QU.
