A number of Albums of the Identical Folks in Photographs? The best way to Mix Them on iPhone or Mac

Does the same person appear twice in the Photos app on your iPhone or Mac? Here's how to put all of your photos together.

The People album in the Photos app on Apple devices serves a great purpose in helping you browse pictures of different people. Your iPhone, iPad, or Mac uses face recognition software to sort the photos in your gallery to create the albums. But that doesn't always work perfectly.

When syncing photos between multiple Apple devices, Photos may incorrectly create multiple albums for the same person. This can also happen when you have particularly blurry pictures of someone or when they change their look with a new hairstyle, glasses, or facial hair.

If so, here's how to fix the problem by merging multiple people in the Photos app on your iPhone or Mac.

How to Merge Multiple People in Photos on an iPhone or iPad

Fortunately, it's easy to fix duplicate person albums in photos by merging them. You can even merge person albums for very different people into one if you want to create an album for your entire family or group of friends. Follow these steps to merge different People Albums into one on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open minded photos and go to Albums> People Album and tap Choose.

  2. Select the profiles that you want to merge.

  3. Tap in the lower right corner Merging.

  4. A pop-up window will appear asking if it is the same person. Tap Yes sir (even if it doesn't and you still want to merge them).

  3. Ctrl-click a group.

  4. Select from the list of actions X merge people.

  5. click Yes sir to confirm that they are the same person (even if they are not and you still want to merge them).

Merging albums from people ensures that your gallery is organized and error-free. Or you can use the option to jointly create an album of a specific group of people, although it is usually best to use the search feature to do this.
