movavi video editor for children

Price: Free 7-day trial, then $ 39.95 for a lifetime license.

Movavi is a video editor that your kids will learn in no time.

Video editing consists of five simple steps: adding video clips, cutting and enhancing, applying transitions, inserting music, and exporting. With these five steps, anyone can quickly edit a video and create a polished product with little difficulty.

Children will enjoy the wider range of animations, transitions and effects in Movavi. The user interface is also similar to many professional video editors. If you switch to a more powerful video editing tool, the layout remains familiar.

You can also use Movavi to record live video streams from other sources. For example, you can select a Skype call as input, record the video, and then edit it as you like. Alternatively, your children can stream their favorite game live in Movavi and then edit it for upload.

The free version of Movavi is subject to several restrictions. The biggest limitation is the massive Movavi watermark that stretches the screen. Purchasing the licensed version removes the watermark and adds various effects, transitions, and additional tools that cost $ 39.95 for a lifetime license.

Which is the best video editor for kids?

The best video editing app for kids depends on your kids and their technical skills. I tested several of these tools with my kids during Corona Virus Lockdown for a school project.

Due to the absolute lack of editing skills (apart from some stop-motion image edits), the built-in Windows 10 Photos app video editor was a hit for its ease of use. However, my oldest child felt that the whole package was missing and wanted more filters, scene transitions and effects.

The children found a happy medium OpenShotThis didn't add to the complexity of video editing, but it did significantly adjust the creations. In addition, OpenShot is free, which is always a bonus.
